Having done many GTIs since they were released and with the new platform in full swing, H-M Motorsports decided down the path of customizing a 2007 GTI with every performance and gadget part on the market. This not only allowed us the opportunity to install parts wed not yet had an opportunity to see in-person for this platform but it also gave our Manager a fun toy to drive for the next few months (you decide the real motivation here).
A December 2006 order and build, the vehicle arrived in January as a rush order from Germany. Being a VW Dealer sometimes has its privileges. A quick PDI and apart comes the dash for Bluetooth. And why confuse the car? The latest 2.0T GIAC Software is flashed with the odometer reading a mere 5 miles. Ok, we put it in stock mode for break-in. Lets not get crazy here.
The Detail revealed some transport damage so the painter did some quick repair to the clear-coat compliments of VWoA and the transport company. Now the fun stuff begins. Tint. New South Boost Gauge and ColumnPod. Neuspeed Short Shift. Wed been really interested to try the new MkV Economy line Coilovers from NEX and have been very pleased! The adjustability is great and they perform fantastic on the street as well as the track (more on that later). While were under the car, an H&R Mk5 Rear 24mm Swaybar is installed before we align the vehicle on the new Arago V3D Wheel Aligner.
